Digital Information Pillars

Market

To better inform visitors to Tilburg about events and festivities in the city, the municipality has invested in dynamic signage for pedestrians. Q-lite has won the tender for this.

New design

Q-lite has used the design freedom in this tender according to UAV-GC2005 to design and implement a new aesthetically designed information kiosk. This column offers the visitor all the information he needs to make the right choice to continue his ‘journey’. That is why the top is provided with information that answers the question ‘where am I’. Then the digital screen in the center of the column provides information about the city, what to do, and signage to the most important hotspots. In terms of design and house style, this new dynamic signage fits in perfectly with the sleek black design of the existing road and street furniture in the city.

CityMarketing

The information kiosks have been placed at the most important arrival locations in the city. The columns that are set up in the walking direction of the pedestrians are equipped on both sides with a 55 inch outdoor LCD screen including anti-reflective safety glass.

These screens can dynamically refer to the most important hotspots in the city. In addition, the screens are used to inform current activities and events in the city. A great tool for city marketing!

Ideal location

Because the pillars are centrally located, they are also the ideal location for beacons, WiFi hotspots or security cameras. But also as a collection point of data about, for example, temperature, air quality or the number of passers-by.

Robust design

De zuil is robuust uitgevoerd. It consists of a steel framework that is tightly finished with sheet metal, powder coating and signing. The surface is smooth and has been pre-treated so that graffiti and stickers are difficult to adhere and easy to remove.

Control via RAAAK platform

The municipality uses the RAAAK platform we developed to control and manage the information kiosks. This IoT platform makes it possible to control the kiosks, to read the data from the sensors, but also to make a link with other devices or software applications.

Ready for the future

In short, with the dynamic information kiosks in combination with the Q-lite RAAAK platform, the municipality of Tilburg is ready for the future! To better inform visitors to Tilburg about events and festivities in the city, the municipality has invested in dynamic signage for pedestrians. Q-lite has won the tender for this.
