With TNT’s sorting system, the destination of the express consignments, which ended up in the container in question, was still indicated manually by means of described process identification signs. Because switching to a different sorting table is currently time consuming and inflexible, it was decided to invest in automating this information. To this end, the sorting system is equipped with production displays, which are mounted above each container. From a distance it is possible to enter which destination will be shown on which display. In this way, each container receives a dynamic assignment, which can be changed at any time with a simple action.
